Join Girls on the Run of Western North Carolina for their end-of-session 5k event held at BIltmore Park Town Square that honors their 600+ particpants who have trained for 12-weeks to run a 5k (3.1 mile) event while learning important life skills such as communicating, self-worth, being part of a team and civic responsibility. Their mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using their fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Over 1,300 individuals from 14 WNC Counties will attend this event including program participants (3rd throught 8th grade girls), parents, coaches, sponsors, families and community volunteers.

Running Buddies and Community Runners volunteer to run with our program participants as they complete this 5K event – offering support and encouragement to cross the finish line. Registration is $15 for both. If you are interested in volunteering as a Running Buddy (related to participant, 16 and older – if a sibling under 16, must both be accompanied by a parent/guardian/volunteer over 16) or as a Community Runner (not related, will be matched, 18 and older, must pass background check), click here for the online Running Buddy/Community Runner Registration Form (a $1 fee has been added for processing).
