City Market South - Outdoor Farmer's Market

Join the City Market South for their annual outdoor farmer's market along the esplanade in Biltmore Park Town Square every Wednesday (April through the end of October) between 12 pm and 4 pm.  This area farmer's market put together by the Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) brings together local food, farmers and artisans from western North Carolina.  Market customers will find fresh and seasonal produce, dairy, a variety of meats, vegetarian options, locally-made condiments, snacks, body care products and much more!

Orvis - Fly Fishing 101

Fly Fishing 101- If you're looking for a great way to get the family together outside, Orvis FF101 class is the perfect event to get started. Fly fishing is a sport the whole family can participate in. All ages are welcome to attend the event, but those under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Bring the whole family and learn what this great sport is all about. Learn fly-fishing basics in one of our free Fly Fishing 101 classes. Perfect for beginners of all ages. Fly Fishing 101 will provide you with free lessons on fly casting and outfit rigging.

Saturday, June 4th - 11 am: Summer Reading Triathlon Opening Ceremony
From May 17 to September 6, kids in grades 1 through 6 can earn a free book at Barnes & Noble! Join Barnes & Noble for the Summer Reading Triathlon Opening Ceremony on June 4 at 11:00AM. Kids can get their journals for a free book, enjoy fun-filled activities and cast a ballot for their favorite book hero and place to win a Gold, Silver or Bronze Medal. 
 
Saturday, June 11th - 11 am: Oh, the Places You'll Go!
In celebration of life's many milestones, join us for a reading of the Dr. Seuss classic Oh, the Places You'll Go! Activities to follow. 
 
Saturday, June 18th - 11 am: Father's Day Storytime
To honor dads, grandpas and caregivers, we will read two charming books, Dad School and Grandpa Loves You! Activities to follow. 
 
Saturday, June 25th - 11 am: Extremely Cute Animals Operating Heavy Machinery
Just because you're extremely cute, doesn't mean you can't operate a bulldozer! From author-illustrator David Gordon comes a funny, whimsical take on believing in yourself and telling bullies who's boss! Join us for a fun-filled Storytime!
